Life can drop you to your knees
and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me or nobody is going to hit as hard as life. But it isn't about how hard
you hit, it is about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much can you take and keep moving forward. That's
how winning is done!
Meet the MWDT Coach/Choreographer
Hi.
My name is Shan and I have been the Coach/Choreographer for the MWDT for the past 6 years. Prior to MWDT, I was the Coach/Choreographer
for MW JV and Freshmen Cheer teams. I am also a NFHS Certified Coach in both Dance and Cheer. I started dancing when I was
4 years old in Walnut Creek, California prior to moving to the Big 'O'. I then attended Ralston High School and was on the
Ralston Rams Pom Squad. While on the team I was a choreographer for the Rams and a few other local schools. We placed 5th
at Nationals my Senior year, and I was named NDA All-American, voted the NDA Superstar and was recruited to teach summer dance
camps as a NDA Instructor. Unfortunately, I had to pass on the opportunity due to knee surgery. I was also given the chance
to perform in Hawaii at the Aloha Bowl. I then attended UNK, where I was a member of the UNK Dance Team and in the Gamma Phi
Beta Sorority. As a member, I was one of the two main choreographers and judged many tryouts and competitions along the way.
I have choreographed for various events, schools and programs such as the UNO Dance Team, Nebraska All-Star Tigers, Skutt
Dance Team, Marian Cheer Team, KWAA Panthers, solos for Dance Studios and a hip hop routine for a high school in Alaska, just
to name a few. I am the Director of Tryouts for the Nebraska Wesleyan University Dance Team and I received
5 Best Choreogrpahy Awards this year! In addition to all the fun stuff, I am the Visual Merchandise Manager for
Oak View Mall, Westroads Mall and Mall of the Bluffs. I love my family and friends the most...I have a wonderful, supportive
husband, Trevor, and a great son (in the form of a doggie), Rozzi. These girls are a HUGE part of my life and although
it gets CrAzY busy at times, I wouldn't trade them for the world ever!!!! I have such an incredible bond with these
ladies, I will never forget one of them!!
